Our staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities, which are designed to appeal to the interests of the children and to broaden the curriculum. These activities may be offered at different times throughout the year. As our staff is small in number the assistance of volunteers is very much appreciated and we would be delighted to hear from any parent who is willing to help in order to increase the availability of opportunities for our children.

Clubs
At present there are Football, Netball, Choir, Drama,  Recorder, School Council and Charity Group clubs which take place either at lunchtime or after school. All of these, with the exception of Recorder,  is run by members of staff, but we would be glad to hear from any parent who feels that they could offer assistance.

Music

Mrs. Kiernan and Mrs Davey organise and manage the school choir they meet on Wednesday afternoons after school. Our choir have so far  performed at the Manchester Evening News Arena, Millgate Shopping Centre, Bury, the Castle Leisure Centre and have put on Music Evenings in school.

Instrumental music tuition is available through the Bury Music Service.
There is a charge for this small group tuition. Details can be obtained through school.

School visits to places of educational importance are arranged throughout the year. The visits are linked to the curriculum for experience of field trips, art galleries, museums and outdoor pursuits.
Visits in recent years have included Eden Camp, The Museum of Science and Industry, Wigan Pier and Dewa Roman Experience Chester, Burrs Country Park, a local pantomime and Camelot Theme Park.

Our Year 6 children enjoy a residential trip to Boreatton Park, an outdoor pursuits centre in Staffordshir

Sport
Mr. Phelan runs the football club after school on Mondays and Mrs. Davies and Mrs Williams run our netball club on Thursdays after school.
A number of traditional sports are played and we are active members of Bury Sports Association and the Small Schools Sports League. Each year we enter 11 a side football league and the Catholic Cup football competition as well as the netball league and the soft cricket and netball tournaments. Through our association with Prodec we hope to gain the FA Chartermark. We welcome parents to our annual Sports Day at the end of the school year.
